This week, our own Rotarian Cindy Kennedy was the guest speaker at Rotary! Cindy spoke about her work with City Center Churches, which has been working to help underserved communities in Pilot Point for the past four years.

Cindy spoke of how the organization helped get the Meals on Wheels program restarted post-COVID in 2021, which now serves both home meals to more than 2 dozen locals, as well as congregate meals at the Community Center for seniors who are able to get out. They also helped to organize the Community Center programming prior to the City taking over the facility. The facility offers five days a week of programming, with the most popular being the Senior Workout Classes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday by Kainos Community CrossFit.

"We are just a group bringing people together to do things for the community," Kennedy said.

There is a Volunteer Fair scheduled for August 24 during the Post-Signal Community Day, which will highlight the different organizations, such as Rotary and City Center Churches, for locals to get involved with. We encourage everyone to come to this opportunity and help get involved to make Pilot Point a better place for all!
